The Aquarium of the Pacifics mission is to instill a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems. Our vision is to create the first aquarium, and perhaps the first institution, in the world dedicated to conserving and building Natural Capital Nature and Natures services by building Social Capital the interactions between and among peoples. The Aquarium of the Pacific is Southern California’s largest aquarium and the fifth largest in the nation. With 1.4 million annual visitors, including 200,000 school children, the Aquarium of the Pacific is also the third largest cultural attraction in the Los Angeles area. In addition to providing a fun and educational experience for families of all ages and backgrounds through our interactive exhibits and daily presentations, the Aquarium hosts a variety of educational programs, cultural festivals, classes and courses, offsite field trips, renowned guest speakers, and more to connect our diverse community with each other and the ocean.
